Sailed right into one of the swell's of the year. Southerlies still blowing. Straight to Refractions to watch the Captain break his board, legrope and get reef rolled. Everybody laughed. Boys loving life. Longers was excellent at 6-8ft in the afternoon. First day all stoked except for Jock who rolled on his ankle. It was not till he returned home that he found out he had broken it. Tough enough to hang out for the entire trip.
Awoke to thumping 3rd reef Refractions and ran around the corner. Steve, Skowy, Goochy, and Richo all went for a go in the big lefts. A hell of a lot of water moving and very hard to catch a wave. Goochy caught one air-drop on his knees, disappeared in the trough shot back up to the roof and re-entered. That'll do.
The boys sped away in the Bynda. Found more mellow waves up the coast. Bloody perfect actually. Binos and a rare gem for the next few days. How good was this???? Troy dug his heels in being the only goofyfooter. Meanwhile, Hutcho was on a fishing quest with Selemat. Smithy was quietly knocking up his wave count while Goochy was surfing his brains out.
After bumping something in the night and running away from the leper hurling protrusions at their bow, the crew hid away at a couple of clean lefts that surprised all and sundry. Liberty was leading a Blind Force with a toothless Skowy and TB from last year. Phil caught his share and shared some great photos.
The pleasure of this trip. They came with no expectations, even though some had been before. The conditions dished up some tricky spots. They loved all entrees, deserts, and mains.
