First official charter for 2012 season.
What a great feeling to be heading out with a bunch of extremely excited return passengers. We were all looking forward to a bit of uncrowded, early season solitude surfing. Looking back over the passenger list, it was only Gert and Bart that had not been aboard the BJ before. The Norwest winds and rain were still up and running at this time. The trip was mainly spent at the world renowned Macaroni’s where we scored everything from epic conditions to light onshore. We were treated to an excellent display by pro goofy footers Ry Craike and Brayton Stack on how to surf the place. Enough size to keep us all on our toes, or in Neil’s case, off his toes and onto the reef. 5 stitches, plenty of bark off and some more Mentawai tattoos to add to his burgeoning collection as our most frequent passenger. No-one around for most of the trip. Fynn lost his front teeth, and the tooth fairy found us. As the weather cleared, we surfed perfect little waves around the area. Unreal. Thanks for coming.
